Bbear is turning 5 this month. FIVE! As a middle child, there are so many things that just seem to zoom by with Bbear. He’s often caught between his big brother’s activities and his little sister being little and needing the most attention. It’s not often we get to really focus on Bbear, my happy, sweet, caring boy. That’s one reason why I wanted to make sure he had a blast for his 5th birthday. Something that was uniquely his but also something that I could enjoy as well as watch his enjoyment. His Sky Zone birthday party definitely fit that bill!
I kept his birthday party under wraps for several weeks. While he knows his birthday is after the holidays, he wasn’t really fixated on his party just yet. Of course, once the chaos of Christmas passed, he was all about discovering the details. And when he realized his party was going to include jumping on trampolines at Sky Zone Oaks, his excitement was barely containable!
We arrived at Sky Zone Oaks and had our own party host and check-in counter. I loved this personalized attention. Since our party was the week between Christmas and New Year’s, I hadn’t factored in that everyone would be looking for something to do with the kids. Having our own check-in gave us the ability to congregate as a group prior to our session beginning as well as a go-to person for pretty much anything we would need.
At check in, we were all given name tags that included our jump times as well as special socks to keep us safe while enjoying the trampolines. The party host also asked if Bbear had a favorite song that they could play during our jump time (he wasn’t sure, so he picked the Star Wars theme song. We’re all about Star Wars these days).
The staff had individual bins set up for our guests to leave their shoes, coats and gifts during check-in, which were then taken to our party room. For our party, we enjoyed the Sky Zone Supreme Air Package which gave us access to our own private dodgeball court (dodgeball included – the boys LOVED that!) for up to 20 jumpers.
With kids ranging in age from 2 to 8, having a private court definitely gave me peace of mind that we knew where the kids were at all times. Our birthday party package also gave the jumpers free water whenever needed – and with all the jumping the kids definitely needed that!
My littlest jumper walked around with Daddy for a short bit, and then was all about jumping with the big kids!
Once our hour of jumping was finished, we made our way up to the Sky Box for 40 minutes of pizza, cake and general wind-down time for the kids.
Remember I mentioned that upon check-in we had left our shoes and coats in a bin? One of the first things I noticed when we made our way up to the party room was how neatly our shoes and coats were organized. No rooting through bins to find matching shoes or a misplaced coat! As a parent, I LOVED this!
After an hour of jumping, the kids certainly worked up an appetite. Our package included 3 pizzas and a custom made cake. Since our party was held during dinnertime, I added 3 additional pizzas when we checked in so that the parents would also be able to have some dinner.
I had been to several parties at Sky Zone but had never been in the Sky Box before – what a fun way to celebrate! You have a bird’s eye view of the entire facility and I didn’t have to worry about getting the room set up or cleaned up! Our party plates, napkins, cups and utensils were also all included so no party preparation needed on my part.
It’s not often that I, as the parent/host of the birthday party child, get to actually eat while the guests are eating. In fact, I usually don’t get to have a bite of food until after the party has ended. Not this time! This time I was able to mingle with guests and enjoy my dinner too!
And I even stole a photo opp with the birthday boy. You would think after all that jumping he would sit still, but no. It’s typical Bbear so of course I still love this shot of us!
Bbear was so excited to see his cake on display for all to see. Being the birthday boy involved some work – Bbear added his own five candles to his cake. He was so proud that he was the one who put the candles in the cake.
As the night wound down, I was even able to capture this photo of my tired but happy trio.
Our Supreme Air Package also included souvenirs for our guests (including a 30-minute free jump pass), as well as a Sky Zone t-shirt for Bbear and two FREE 1 hour jump passes. I think I might be the one to tag along and jump with him for a fun Mommy and Me playdate!
There are so many fun things to do at Sky Zone Oaks! In addition to birthday parties, Sky Zone also offers fun activities such as Open Jump, Ultimate Dodgeball, Foam Zone, Sky Slam and SkyFitness/SkyRobics. I could definitely use a fun activity, and the former gymnast in me loves the idea of the SkyFitness class for a little “me” time!
Overall, we really enjoyed our Sky Zone Oaks Birthday Party. My family felt the facility was clean and safe, the party well organized and a fun environment for all ages! Bbear still has a smile on his face talking about it – so that was the biggest win for me!
